Paola

Il comune di Paola è famoso per aver dato i natali a San Francesco ed è per questo, ogni anno, meta di un turismo religioso da parte di moltissimi pellegrini da tutta Italia. Disposta su vari livelli come molte delle città della Calabria, Paola si affaccia sul Mar Tirreno e quindi, durante l'estate, offre anche spiagge e relax. Paola è carina da girare a piedi e fra i suoi monumenti ospita il Santuario di San Francesco, la casa natale e, appena fuori città, una vecchia badia. La città è raggiunta dalla principale strada che costeggia il Tirreno ed è facilmente raggiungibile anche se in estate alcuni tratti potrebbero essere piuttosto trafficati data la mole dei turisti presenti.

The town of Paola is famous for being the birthplace of St. Francis, which is why, each year, a destination for religious tourism by many pilgrims from all over Italy. Arranged on various levels as many of the cities of Calabria, Paola overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and then, during the summer, it also offers beaches and relaxation. Paola is nice to walk around and among its monuments is home to the Shrine of St. Francis, and birthplace, just outside the city, an old abbey. The city is accessed from the main road along the Tyrrhenian Sea and is easily accessible even if some sections in the summer could be quite busy given the amount of tourists present.
