Conveniently accessible
The Pao de Azucar, compared to the view from the Corcovado, is not as high or as spectacular, but it is more conveniently accessible, has fewer lines, and is cheaper than el Cristo Redentor. I was there on December 31st, which is probably why there were very few people. I was able to get through the various platforms with ease. Connected by a funicular, the first is in the Morro (Hill) de Urca and the second is directly on top of Pao de Azucar. On the way back I decided to walk down from the Urca, and I could see how people practised the almost vertical climb of the Morro. I recommend walking down
