Good food and décor
One of my favourite restaurants in Valencia. Pan de Azúcar offers a menu that makes you drool while you read. Or at least it did me, ha-ha.
There is a variety of starters, I recommend the patatas bravas (they are delicious and made as they should be!) And sliced bread canapés with sausage or chorizo and brie cheese, mmmm!
They also have various salads and super sandwiches, of considerable size which are recommended as starters to share (2 or 3 people). As a main course there are plenty of bocadillos (some which go beyond normal) and the star of the show ...Pancakes! They’re deliciooouuuussssss! I’d highlight that of chicken, cheese, mushrooms and béchamel it’s really succulent.
The dessert menu does not fall short either. Pan de Azúcar offers a variety of cakes, brownies, profiteroles, tiramisu, ice cream, and of course ...Sweet crêpes! I've tried the one with nutella and nuts, and that of vanilla ice cream and caramel, and they are both great.
Apart from their dishes, this restaurant is also notable for its décor, very shrewd with white walls and chairs and plates in white, red and black. On the walls there are plenty of pictures of Tintin and the whole troop, and the roof is covered with synthetic grass and there are white puppies: D
On weekends you have to call between 6 and 8 to book, or you’ll find it difficult to get a table. The price is very good, 12 to 15 € per head.
