Torre della Pallata

The tower of the Pallata is estimated to be about 31 metres high, and 10 metres across. Built in the mid-1200's for defensive purposes, it towers above the city of Brescia. Some 200 years later, a clock was added - and today, it is a landmark in the city. The decorative blackbirds were added at a later date.
