awesome "postcard" beach
This awesome "postcard" beach is located in the southwestern part of Cozumel island. Although many people associate it with the typical beach-club that are there, Playa Palancar is a free public beach. You have to take a detour to the right along an unpaved road that runs from the northern part of Cozumel to the South. You can leave the bike or car in a rental parking lot with a caretaker man who is very nice to you if you give him payment. Playa Palancar is a narrow, but long stretch of white sand and small pebbles that extends right across the coral reef of Cozumel. Although beach access is through the beach-club, I recommend taking a long walk along the beach and moving away from the beach club, where people tend to crowd around the bar or hammocks, etc.
