Pałac Krasińskich - Es uno de los palacios más hermosos de Varsovia y de toda Polonia. Fue construido al estilo barroco (siglo XVII). Conocido también como Palacio de la República, era la antigua sede de la Corte Suprema, y en la actualidad es una de las sedes de la Biblioteca Nacional. En el palacio se encuentran, entre otras cosas, manuscritos de la Biblioteca de los Zaluski y Rapperswilska, así como otros antiguos documentos impresos, milagrosamente salvados de los incendios de la guerra. Otras colecciones que llaman la atención son unos inapreciables manuscritos polacos y extranjeros de la edad media, así como colecciones temáticas dedicadas a la Gran Emigración (1831-1883) y recuerdos literarios de Cyprian Kamil Norwid. En la parte trasera del palacio se encuentran el Jardín de los Krasiński (Ogród Krasińskich); un hermosísimo parque urbano al estilo barroco, que es un popular lugar de paseo.
Paac Krasiskich - is one of the most beautiful palaces in Warsaw and throughout Poland. It was built in the Baroque style (XVII century). Known also as the Palace of the Republic, it was the ancient seat of the Supreme Court, and today is one of the headquarters of the National Library. In the palace they are, among other things, manuscripts of the Załuski Library and Rapperswilska, as well as other ancient printed documents, miraculously saved from the fires of war. Other collections that attract attention are a priceless Polish and foreign manuscripts of the Middle Ages, as well as thematic collections devoted to the Great Emigration (1831-1883) and literary memories of Cyprian Norwid. At the rear of the palace are the Garden of the Krasiski (Ogrd Krasiskich); one hermossimo urban park in the Baroque style, which is a popular place for walking.

From noble residence to the seat of the National Library

Da dimora nobiliare a sede della biblioteca nazionale

È una delle opere architettoniche più rappresentative della città e oggi è sede della biblioteca nazionale di Varsavia. I Krasinski, famiglia polacca di antico e nobile lignaggio, fecero progettare la propria residenza a Tylman van Gameren, l’architetto del barocco più noto in Polonia. Tra il 1677 e il 1682, l’architetto edificò questo palazzo e lo collocò tra un cortile d’onore antistante l’accesso monumentale e un vasto giardinok sul retro. La facciata è lunga ed elegante e presenta un solenne ingresso coronato da un timpano. Il cortile anteriore ospita curiose sculture di arte contemporanea che raffigurano colorati cavalli alati.
