Antoine D'Audigier
Worth a visit
Far more restrained than the cathedral, which dominates Lausanne, this is a dark place, in which the smell of candles lingers. In 1992, it was elevated to the rank of basilica by Pope John Paul II. It is the largest of ten Catholic places of worship in the city, and has modern architecture, having been restored in 1932. The fresco inside makes it well worth a visit.
