Cheese of the Tatras Mountains
Oscypek cheese is typical in the Tatras mountains. It´s a salty goat cheese and there is another option that is also mixed with cow milk. It´s smoked and infused with rustic motifs and although you can find it vacuum-wrapped in every supermarket in the country, it comes from the mountains and that is where you can buy and eat it in its most natural state. It comes in different sizes and can be eaten hot with jam for just under 1 euro. It´s a shame that I don´t live closer and I can´t have it at home because it´s delicious! At the foot of the mountains there is also a market where you can find typical products like elos cheese.
