small oasis of shade and tranquility
While visiting El Borges, a village along the Route of the Raisin in the Axarquia, and after dropping down one of its hills, I found this surprising little park. In this small town, this park is well kept and harbors a surprising number of plant and animal species. The Botanical and Ornithological Park, or, The Alcua, seemed a little oasis of shade and tranquility amidst the sweltering heat of July, so I started to explore it, driven both by curiosity and a need to escape the heat a little. Inside I found species like Ostriches, Peacocks, Ducks, Geese, Swans, Parrots of Patagonia, Lovebirds, Pheasants, and Galllinas (Castilian and mestizo), all caged and enclosed.
