A different Olympus
When I decided to make the trip to Turkey I wanted to visit Olympus, maybe because my last trip was to Greece and I hoped to find a similar Olympus. So when I got to the Olympos in Turkey I was speechless, because it was not what I had imagined, but I could not say if I liked it or it had let me down, it was completely different than I thought. I thought I would find a place full of ruins through which it would be possible to imagine a Lycian city, however, what you see is quite different. Olympus is idyllic by nature rather than through the ruins. Although it is an ancient city and there are still ruins to prove it, most impressive is the landscape, seriously, it's amazing.
It is located inland from a spectacular beach bordered by a creek. This creek runs through a stunning gorge. The ruins of the ancient city are mixed with nature, with flowers of intense colors and extremely green vegetation. In addition, the ruins are located in the middle of the mountain and all always open, but yes, there are fees. Olympos Beach is huge and full of gems. One of the most fascinating things about this place is that when you walk along the shore, you see the entire landscape. Also during the tour, the only sound you hear is from the sea and the birds, since no vehicles pass by and, at least when we were there, it was not overcrowded with tourists. By the way, near the beach there are several places for a drink while enjoying the view, with cozy terraces.
