Peñíscola Old Town

Peñíscola is one of the most beautiful summer spots of Castellón, and even of the Mediterranean. Besides its beautiful beach and historic castle, it also has an impressive historic district.
The historic district is located next to the castle and is formed by beautiful narrow streets. All of the streets are steep, so I suggest you wear comfortable shoes, otherwise you will be exhausted. Also, it is impossible to walk with high hills on the cobbled streets, since they are slippery.
The houses are very ancient and modest and they have a white façade that is generally covered with flowers. The ground floors of the houses are full of streets where you can find souvenirs. There is also a great number of restaurants and bars and they prices are not too high. Also, there are bars for every taste: from pubs with heavy music to the elegant discos with chill-out music.

A walk in the sunset along the cobbled streets in the historic district of Peñíscola. As the shadows grow bigger and the sea breeze enters the streets with flowers that hang from the whitewashed houses, you listen to some street musician that waits for a few coins from the passerby’s.
