Historic buildings

Oxford is a beautiful city, which mixes historic buildings with great harmony. The historic center is built around four main streets. Cornmarket, heads north, and St Aldate's to the south, while Queen street goes to the east and High Street to London and the west. In the center you find Carfax and its iconic bell tower. The old center of Oxford is nice since you can explore by foot, and cars are limited. We were actually surprised by the number of buses and bikes out there, since the rest of England only uses the car. It is a very good for students and tourists, taking advantage of the city at their leisure.

Points of interest include Broad Street downtown, the various colleges that make up Oxford University, all are prestigious but some more than others, the older ones are from the twelfth century! Visit the Bodleian Library, climb the tower of St Mary to see the sights of the center. Finish with a cute covered market for local products.
