Traditional place to see a movie in London
The Odeon West End is located in Leicester Square. Leicester Square has several of the largest cinemas in the city. Now it's common for large shopping centers on the outskirts of the city to also have entertainment centers but Leicester Square is traditionally the place where you go to see a movie in London. Opposite the cinema, which is on the south side of the square, is the Odeon Leicester Square. This huge building with its large black façade and 37 meter high tower belongs to the same chain. The West End has only two rooms, one can accommodate 500 people and the other 900. For a film premiere in Leicester Square, there's usually a great show with fireworks, parties, etc. The British Film Institute's annual Film Festival is also held at the Odeon West End. It was built in 1930 and was originally the theater of Leicester Square.
