Ochate

Ochate es una localidad burgalesa del Condado de Treviño, deshabitada desde principios del siglo XX, que ha adquirido cierta fama debido a supuestos fenómenos paranormales. El nombre de Ochate deriva de Gogate, y vendria a significar -según investigadores como Julio Corral y Antonio Arroyo- "paso de arriba" o "paso alto", aunque se puede especular con acepciones como "la puerta de los espíritus o "la puerta de Gog" (Personaje bíblico del Apocalipsis de San Juan). Para llegar a Ochate si se viene desde Miranda de Ebro por la Nacional I hay que dirigirse hacia Uzquiano y luego seguir hacia Imiruri, donde se puede dejar el vehículo (si se accede al pueblo a través de un vehículo).
