“Obispo Colombres” Wine Museum
The house used by the Museum was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1941. It was the bishop's private residence and is one of the clearest and most interesting examples of seventeenth-century colonial houses. Two floors, staircases, beams of the hardest woods, perfectly preserved from the time it was built. Inside are different rooms, personal items and those dedicated to the development of the sugar industry in the province. Bishop Eusebio colombres, belonging to a family known and accredited tucumana, was the initiator of the sugar industry in Argentina and on a box next to the house are preserved objects that were used in the first sugar factory installed in Tucuman, the mill Wood that gave rise to this industry and old pans, spoons and masonry.
