Novodevichy Cemetery

Novodevichy Cemetery is the final resting place of many important figures in Russians history such as writers like Gogol, Chekhov, and Tolstoy, politicians such as Kropotkin, Yeltsin, and Krushchev, and an array of soldiers, artists, and football players. Interestingly, the tombs are all personalized. For example, a dead artillery general has his tomb decorated with a rocket launcher, or a paratrooper will have a tomb shaped like a parachute. Some are real works of art.
