Fishing Village

Niolon is a fishing village in the south of France, part of the "Côte d'Azur". This village is near Le Rove. Like other villages in the area, it is also quaint and does not disappoint if you take the chance to visit. There are only of a few houses surrounding a partially enclosed small bay which is inclosed by a jetty. The town's main attraction is diving, the views and its seafood dishes. If I remember correctly there is only one restaurant on the bay. Locals love their land so much that the people who live there inherit the family house and it is very difficult for others to get land or a house out there.

The small harbor has always moored boats and you often see the fishermen going out to fish, unless you go during the day in summer ... it's too hot to work and only let nets out early in the morning. Niolon can also be seen from the train (a view that lasts 5 seconds) since the train route passes right by, about 50 metres from the shore. This is because the ground is very irregular and there are wetlands that require a path that isn't always the most beautiful.

stroll between sea and mountains

This is a small village which attracts many tourists in the summer. Access to creeks is on foot (parking is available to visitors). All fishermen's houses are organized around the port. A small path leads over the railway track and overlooking the sea promenade is really nice when the weather is nice and the walk is not too long. It is also possible to reach the village and its small beach.

Niolon is a lovely little fishing village in the south of France, about half an hour's drive from Marseille. It is close to the village of Rove. Like other villages of the coast, it is trapped between the creeks and the railroad that joined Martigues and the Etang de Berre, so the village could not grow as much as the rest of the Riviera, this which is good news because the water is pure and can still swim without too many people around. There are a few houses around a small fishing port, with sharp, fishing boats in colorful wood Marseille. There are two restaurants grilled fish, and no real beach, it is rather to be put towels on the rocks and make dives. The houses are so nice that nobody sells them, or at least they are never on the market, they inherit or buy friends, do not dream your shed has a Niolon! The train runs on an elevated track, we can see the village from the cars, stealth, because it is well insulated.
