Nightlife in Hanoi
Hanoi is not a city known for having a very active nightlife. The bars have to close before midnight. The police came to a very modern pub, in the Old Quarter, and pub owners were forced to tell people to leave. There is a bar frequented by expatriates (especially French), such as Roots, which stays open until the wee hours of the morning, even with the door closed. You have to hit the shutter to ask t get in. The Roots cocktails are priced at 45,000 dong (less than 2 €). There is a riverside pub that is left fully open till late. A pub which is fine for dinner, drinks or smoking "shisha" in quiet plan is Dragonfly, with decor elements with Spanish and salsa music on the ground floor at times.
