10 reviews of Neues Museum

Mr. Pericles

A true icon of Classical Greece, the totem of philosophers, as I love Greek art and studied philosophy I was doubly impressed! It's not a question of artistic genius, or of knowing that originally this bust was at the entrance of the Acropolis, Athens. It's that we see the man who revolutionized understanding in the West with his fifth century BC cultural revolution and the man who conceived what we understand by science, art, philosophy, city and citizen. Europe, especially Latin Europe, owes much to Mr. Pericles. The statue (in the Altes Museum) is the only remaining copy of the lost Greek original

Magnificent visit to the Egyptian Museum Berlin

In the famous Museum Island we found the Neues Museum. Admission is € 10 but if you take the multiple ticket it costs 14 € and you get to visit the Pergamum Museum (which also costs 10 € on its own). A visit can take 2 hours and if you like Egyptian culture, art and history then this is your place. Undoubtedly its most prized possesion is the bust of Nefertiti, really a stunning beauty, it's a shame not to photograph it.

Papyri

After looking at dozens of very interesting Egyptian statues, the last of which that of Nefertiti, I came at that part of the museum where objects of Egyptian everyday life are exhibited. Although we're probably tired after "much art" these rooms are very entertaining, especially if you go with children to the museum. Surely they enjoy a lot hearing stories of pyramids, tombs and antique toys.

Goddess

Nefertiti, still a goddess

Important works

Has some of the most important works of ancient Egyptian civilization, the most prominent, no doubt, is the famous bust of Nefertiti. But there are other highlights such as pieces from excavations of some temples. One of the best things is the structure of this museum. As you enter you find huge spaces surrounded by glass cases to display the objects. All parts are positioned so that the atmosphere is not heavy, you never feel like there is an agglomeration of pieces, which personally is what happens to me many times in this kind of museum. The work has tremendous value but personally, I feel
