Remains of the History of Cuenca
The neighborhood of San Pedro in Cuenca is the oldest of the city and is located in its upper part, next to the castle and the Trabuco Square. It is of Muslim origin and it used to be a noble neighborhood in the late Middle Ages. Afterwards, in the 18th century, it became a quarter where canons lived. In the 19th century it became very popular, and later on it turned into the favorite area for artists of the group "El Paso", native of Cuenca: Saura, Rueda and Torner.
