Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County

Put on some comfortable walking shoes and set aside several hours – even a whole day - because there’s an abundance of things to look at and learn about at the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles! It’s a ton of fun for everyone of all ages, and it’s the perfect activity especially when it’s raining or too hot to be outside.

Learn about mammals, dinosaurs (this is really great one with huge skeletons on display), precious stones (very fascinating and beautiful to look at), insects, and much more! There are also the butterfly and spider pavilions, as well as special limited time exhibits (a previous one featured mummies from Egypt and Peru).

The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is the second oldest in the United States. It is the largest natural history museum in the western United States, and keeps various specimens and artifacts.
