Museum of the American Piano

The Museum of the American Piano, founded by Kalman Detrich, opened its doors in 1984. It is a nonprofit organization recognized by the New York State Board of Regents. Dedicated to preserving the history of the piano, the museum is also committed to the future of the instrument. Specifically, its objective is to establish, provide, maintain and operate a museum housing historical and antique pianos, (of technical and musical importance) including the acquisition and restoration of the same.
