Celebrating the bicentenary
Massaia Guglielmo Etiopico Museum in Rome is a mounted Capuchin convent cell Frascati where Cardinal Guglielmo Massaja lived his last years of life, between 1880 and 1889. The Museum Ethiopian holds hundreds of articles and documents from his long mission among the Galla of Upper Ethiopia. The Cappuccino Guglielmo Massai (1809-1889), who is celebrating the bicentenary of the birth (see Fides 29/1/2009), is considered one of the greatest missionaries of the 19th century. He was the first to evangelize the people of the Galla, study their cultural and successfully promote a number of social projects.
