Municipal Market in the expansion area of town
The Braganza Municipal Market was opened in December of the year 2001, as the former was in ruins (conserved in the central Praça Camões). The new structure is in the expansion area of town, within walking distance of the New Cathedral. It has almost 8,000 m2 and is 3 stories high. The structure is divided into 2 areas: The market and a shopping arcade. * Market: It is a market where you can find produce, seafood, meats and sausages, bread and sweets, flowers and ornamental plants, crafts, etc. What caught my eye is that the shops they do not give the impression of being the normal ones of a food market where people usually go to the buy on a daily basis, but were "gourmet" with different products, like the typical "merda liquor" (made from milk, vanilla, cocoa, cinnamon and citrus).
