Beautiful temple

Excellent

Mosta Cathedral is a beautiful temple, which has one of the world's largest religious domes. It is easily noticeable for its size, and for being surrounded by smaller buildings around. You can see it from almost any high elevation on the island of Malta. Really worth a visit.

The fame of this church is admirable for its massive dome, which is among the largest in the world, with a diameter of no more and no less than 37 meters. It is an impressive church and outside, but once you step inside, is hallucinate, especially when you look at the ceiling and see that huge dome decorated that never seems to end, is a style of Pantheon. Another thing that makes this church is the big story occurred on April 9, 1942, in the midst of World War II, when they launched a bomb pierced the dome part, and toured much of the floor of the church untapped for surprise of the 300 parishioners who had at that time in church. Currently have a replica of the pump, the size is impressive enough, in the sacristy of the church, accessed site just behind the pulpit situated high in a corner of the church interior. There is a side door of the church which is also accessible to the sacristy to see in situ the curious story of the "Miracle of Mosta bomb".

The Island of Malta is full of churches. Mosta is a small town in the interior, but has a church with a spectacular dome. It's worth going because if it's nice outside, it is more inside. The rest of the people is more rather ugly, but the church stands out from afar. Advisable to go all in the famous Maltese buses, I only ride them and it is a small adventure (no door, the buzzer to stop prxima is a rope, etc.). Curiously, during World War II a bomb fell inside while a mass was celebrated, but not exploded (as in the Pilar de Zaragoza). Keep the bomb inside the church.
