Monumento a Francisco Dos
In the centric part of the Jardines de la Rua Alves Roçadas, one can find this monument to Doctor Francisco dos Prazeres. It was made on a sturdy granite pedestal on which stands the bust of this doctor. The monument was constructed to honor Francisco dos Prazeres for his involvement in the construction of the Hospital of the Holy House of Mercy and the Asylum for disadvantaged children in the District of Guarda, in the late 19th century. The city has dedicated the name of one of the streets to him, as well.
