Where Giants Once Walked
The Torcas de Palancares is one of those places that you do not see written down anywhere, and one of those you like the most after visiting it.
These torcas (sinkholes) were formed by the movements of the karstic land. The earth ceded at some points, thus creating large holes concentrated in a small area.
One can access some of the sinkholes, such as the Novia one, directly by car through the road. For all the other ones, one has to walk through the very well indicated path. You will see many of them on this half an hour to 2 hours long walk.
It is really easy to go down to some of them, like the Escalinata one. Some of them are huge, like the Torcazo or the Torca de Agua. Others are full of trees.
