Monument to the Mirandese

This beautiful urban sculpture is in João III plaza, opposite City Hall, and was made in 2006 by José Antonio Nobre. It is 2 cast bronze statues depicting a man and a woman dressed in mirandesas land costumes typical of the rural area. Its most characteristic feature is the 3part "honor layer": coat, large cap and a sort of shawl over her shoulders, it's the most characteristic ethnographic element of the mirandesa plateau.
