Statue next to the theater
In almost all corners of Scotland there's a reference to Robert Burns, and Stirling wasn't an exception. Robert Burns was a writer and poet of the eighteenth century and a defender of national customs and folklore, so he's considered the father of the Scottish renaissance of nationalist sentiment. Many of his poems have been turned into songs, the best known being Auld Lang Syne (currently a farewell song in almost every English-speaking country).
