Monument to Eça de Queiroz

The Monument to Eca de Queiroz leads to a fountain at the eastern end of Plaza de Almada and was built in 1952 by the subscription of Poveiros in Brazil by the sculptor Leopoldo de Almeida. Eca de Queiroz was a great writer born in Póvoa de Varzim on 25 November 1845 and his birthplace is marked by a bronze plaque (designed by Teixeira Lopes).
