Tribute to Carl Schurz

This statue is a tribute to Carl Schurz, who was a politician and military man. It is found near Columbia University, just past Morningside Park. Built in 1913 by Karl Bitter, the statue has a proud and determined look. We discovered it quite by chance after a walk in the park.
