Dans le parc de l’Ariana qui borde le Palais des Nation, au bord de l’avenue de la Paix, se trouve une statue de Gandhi. Cette statue représente le leader du mouvement qui a abouti à l’Indépendance de l’Inde. Faite de bronze, la statue a été offert par l’Inde à la ville de Genève en 2007 à l’occasion de la première journée internationale de la non-violence. Sous la statue, on peut lire la phrase «Ma vie est mon message» qui reflète l’attitude non-violente de Gandhi face à l’agression.
In the park of Ariana which borders the Palace of Nations, along the Avenue de la Paix, is a statue of Gandhi. This statue is the leader of the movement that led to the Independence of India. Made of bronze, the statue was donated by India to the city of Geneva in 2007 on the occasion of the first International Day of Non-violence. Under the statue, you can read the sentence "My life is my message" which reflects the non-violent attitude of Gandhi against aggression.
