Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey

The incomparable mountain of Montserrat, unique in the world for its peculiar silhouette and training, is located less than an hour from the city of Barcelona by train departing from the very center of Barcelona, which has direct connection to the steering rack, panoramic train very attractive for the visitor in only 15 minutes from Monistrol to Montserrat. World Geoparc Worldwide declared by UNESCO and Natural Park since 1987, Montserrat welcomes the Sanctuary of the Virgen Moreneta, the monastery where even today the Benedictine community formed by sixty monks and the School of oldest children choirs singers with and international prestige. The visitor can hear them two times per day.

The Montserrat Mountain is a unique setting for its enclave, its silhouette, and its monastery. It can be reached by road or by taking the funicular. From above the monastery, there are different paths you can take that surround the mountain so you can discover wonderful places. One specifically is "Via Crucis", which will take you to a small chapel where the Virgin was supposedly discovered.
