Built in the eleventh century
The Tower of Montrichard was built in the eleventh century by order of the Count of Anjou. It is in the heart of Montrichard, near City Hall. You can't get lost as it's well-signposted. It's currently in ruins and is dedicated to housing the museum of paleontology, archeology, ethnography and the museum of the mills. With the ticket you can visit the tower and all the museums. When I visited this summer I think it cost me about €5. Montrichard is between the castles of Chenonceau and Cheverny, and just in front of the Tower, so it's a good visit.
