Montgarri Sanctuary

In the Catalonian Pyrenees, near Baqueira Beret, you can find the mountain shelter of Montgarri. Stunning views, wonderful food, great atmosphere, worth spending the day.

At the Northeast border of the Valley of Arán one can reach the sanctuary-shelter of Montgarri. To access it, there is a simple route there that goes along a pretty comfortable forest (around 12 kms, going and coming back).

One sets off from the Plan de Beret, from one of the ends of the parking space and a very pleasant tour is done. In a natural surroundings of great beauty, the natural border between Atlantic and Mediterranean features, the tour runs very close to the Noguera Pallaresa river, in forests of black pines and pastures. The final section is especially beautiful, when from above one can glimpse the Sanctuary.
