Monte Cavallo can be reached using the cable car in Vipiteno town center. It costs around 10 euros one way. Turning right across the ski runs there is an undemanding winterweg. It takes around 2 hours to complete and meanders through snowy pines with glimpses of the town below and the surrounding peaks.
Baita Furl looks to be the cutest place for lunch.
Post canederli, head for Camp2 opposite the funivia station and hire a sledge for under 10 euros. Monte cavallo boasts the longest sledge run in Italy.
10km winding between the pine trees with plenty of challenging tight bends. Smile as you reach the end and pick up a souvenir photo.
