Monumental gate
The monnaie door is one of the monumental gates that mark the entrance to Bordeaux when you come from the Garonne. Imagine in front, on the river, the boats waiting to take the wine and the products of the region, while delivering products brought to the colonies and the Mediterranean. Opens the way to the Saint Michel, and the church of the same name. Built in 1758, and built quickly, they eventually commissioned a work boy watch the door, so only authorized people were permitted to travel through the new door.
