An abbey into oblivion
The Benedictine abbey San Quirze of Cholera was documented in the IX century, it's in Rabós, in L'Alt Emporda region. It is being gradually restored, after many years of abandonment and neglect, despite its beauty and location. The monastery, with all its possessions and land, was acquired by General Ramón de Nouvilas, whose descendants owned the property until 1994 when they sold it to the town of Rabós (for the symbolic sum of 1,000 pesetas).
