The Mirage: recommendable but needing a facelift
The first impression when entering the Mirage the feeling that it was an old hotel. A hotel that has not had much maintenance budget. I think that feeling was the result of seeing so many hotels all around that were impeccable on the Strip. It opened in the year 1989 and was once the most expensive hotel ever constructed at a cost of $630 million and a little more than 3000 rooms. To be constructed it used according to estimates, the hotel had to generate $ 1 million per day to repay the loan in 7 years. The hotel generated so much money that its debt could be paid within 18 months. The golden color of the windows is as real gold used for staining.
