Minaret Mudejar Daimalos
In the Mudejar Route of the region of Axarquia, you will come across Daimalos, a small hamlet of the town of Arenas. We climbed the narrow white streets up to the Church of Our Lady of the Conception, of Moorish construction. It is one of the oldest in Spain, constructed in the XIII century, so it is much older than the minarets of Árchez and Corumbela. The Church of Santa Catalina has been famous for many years because of the ritual of leaving a candle burning when celebrating a christening. The interior of the minaret is very narrow. It was declared a place of Cultural Interest in 2004.
