Included in the visit to the Taj Mahal
The Taj Mahal is flanked by two symmetrically identical buildings, one on the left used as a mosque and another, the Mihman Khana, on the right which was used as a guest house for visitors during anniversaries of the death of Mumtaz Mahal and later as banquet hall for entertaining the British and Indian princes from the 17th through 19th centuries. The buildings, although similar in appearance, are actually slightly different: the mosque is octagonal whereas the Mihman Khana is rectangular. The ground floor of the building is open to all visitors and is included in the entry fee for the Taj Mahal.
