A tribute to ordinary people
The third statue in tribute to the ordinary people of the French market is dedicated to Michelle, a young woman sitting barefoot on the edge of a fountain. In short shorts and a shirt, she seems quite relaxed, but her face shares the same melancholy expression as Paul Perret's other statue. She is the only character shown in this series who belongs to a different era from that of the old French market, and is the bridge between Victorian era and today.
