Miamendi Rural Cottage

Nosotros nos decantamos por esta casa rural porque tiene un precio especial de peregrino, 56 € la habitación con desayuno (IVA no incluido). La casa está en lo alto de una colina, sobre un cruce de carreteras nacionales bastante transitada, al lado del aeropuerto de Bilbao con el correspondiente ruido y a 3 Km del pueblo. Por lo que la idea es que si te alojas con ellos, cenes en el comedor que tienen instalado anexo a la casa rural (aunque en ningún momento te comentan el precio de la cena ni el mismo está disponible o visible de cara al público). De modo que, una vez allí, nos animamos a cenar en su comedor ya que nos comentaron que servían comida sencilla y casera, tipo ensalada sacada de su huerto y huevos de sus propias gallinas. Pero lo gracioso fue que coincidimos también con un grupo de 10 personas que se presentaron a cenar esa misma noche, previa reserva telefónica. Y como no tienen personal para hacer frente a todo el complejo, es la misma dueña la que se encargaría de preparar la cena a todos ellos con la ayuda de su nuera que ayudó como camarera. Obviamente aquella mesa de 10 personas les desbordaría, pero supieron salir del paso bastante bien a costa de dejarnos a nosotros un poco al margen. Por lo que empezaron a desfilar antes nuestras narices varios tipos de entrantes y atenciones para la mesa grande, mientras que a nosotros (que llegamos al comedor una hora antes que los otros) ni siquiera nos habían tomado nota. Era evidente que querían congratular y esmerarse con los otros, pues parecían personas de clase media-alta dispuestas a dejarse el dinero descaradamente aquella noche. Mientras que nosotros éramos simples jóvenes peregrinos a los que lo mismo les daba comer antes que después. Nosotros, lejos de crear más problemas a esta pobre gente, esperamos paciente y educadamente que pudieran atendernos. Pero al final lo que nos llegó fueron platos tardíos y escuálidos frente a la abundancia presente en la mesa grande. Es decir, degustamos una cena excesivamente humilde y escasa, en un ambiente ruidoso e incómodo, pues el servicio brilló por su ausencia. Aunque, en cualquier caso, comprendimos la situación y agradecimos la cena caliente. Pero al día siguiente, al ir a pagar, mi pareja y yo pensamos que se disculparían por lo sucedido o tendrían algún detalle de cortesía para subsanarlo. Pero nada más lejos de la realidad. La dueña había dejado la factura hecha a mano a su joven nuera con intención de no dar la cara (y no parecía la primera vez que operaban de esta manera). Pues bien, nos cobró hasta el aire que respiramos. Por cena, nos clavaron 18 € cada uno sin iva, más dos cervezas aparte que tomó mi pareja, una de ellas para mitigar la espera; además 10 € por la lavandería (sin haber establecido un precio razonable antes de mutuo acuerdo), y por si fuera poco, aplicó el IVA sobre todos estos conceptos que he mencionado. Es decir, nos salió por unos 120 € pasar la noche aquí. Al preguntar a la chica si el precio de la cena era correcto, nos dijo que sí, y que éste se establecía dependiendo del día sin ningún criterio en concreto. Y lo pagamos… pero estamos seguros que después de esta crítica se pensaran dos veces si volver a actuar de esta manera tan usurera y poco profesional con otros clientes. A nosotros nos habrá salido caro, pero para ellos será una mayor pérdida a la larga, sin duda.

For dinner, we nailed € 18 each without VAT, plus two other beers it took my partner to mitigate one waiting, plus € 10 for laundry (without having established a reasonable price before mutual agreement), and it off, applied the VAT on all these items I mentioned. That is, we went for about 120 € to spend the night here. When asked the girl if the price of the dinner was okay, we said yes, and that it was established depending on the day without any specific criteria. And I paid ... but we are sure that after this review is think twice whether to return to acting this way as usurious and unprofessional with other customers. To us it will be a hefty price, but they will be a greater loss in the long run, no doubt.
