Mezquita Starodoganjska

La Mezquita Starodoganjska es el sitio de oración más importante para la población musulmana de la ciudad de Podgorica, capital de Montenegro. Construida durante el Siglo XV, se trata de uno de los edificios más antiguos de la capital, y el símbolo más importante del antiguo barrio otomano al sur del Rio Moraca. Si bien el sitio ha sido renovado en numerosas ocasiones, es importante mencionar que es uno de los muy pocos edificios que se han conservado en su estado original después del Bombardeo de Podgorica durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. The Starodoganjska Mosque is the most important prayer site for the Muslim population of the city of Podgorica, capital of Montenegro. Built during the 15th century, it is one of the oldest buildings in the capital, and the most important symbol of the old Ottoman quarter south of the Moraca River. Although the site has been renovated on numerous occasions, it is important to mention that it is one of the very few buildings that have been preserved in their original state after the bombing of Podgorica during the Second World War. In a city that was completely in ruins, the only witnesses of the previous history are the two mosques and the Clock Tower, which is less than 500 meters away. To get to the mosque, it is necessary to walk a little more than a kilometer to the south from the Plaza de la Independencia, in the new area of ​​Podgorica. On the other hand, from the bus station there is a distance of approximately 800 meters.
