The winters are quite cold
Messigny et Vantoux is a group of two villages that came together to form a community. It's a quiet town, a 20 minute drive from the center of Dijon. The hostel, the Auberge des Tilleuls is worth a visit, we ate very well there. There's not a lot to do in Messigny but take a look around,you could even go hiking as there are hills as high as 300 metres tall that you can climb to get good views over the whole region. There is an interesting historical heritage, and you're in one of the gastronomic regions of France. Around the village there are lots of vienyards. You can go biking too, forests, and skating if it snows.
