A Reliable Choice
After having visited the source of Mundo River (spectacular, by the way), the best way to continue the excursion is to taste a little bit of the local gastronomy. We had thought of going back to the village and having something there but, as it was already lunch time and it was starting to get late, we decided to go inside the Mesón Sierra Alta since it looked very appealing.
The first good surprise was that Calamaro's music was playing when we came in. Everything looked good. The place has a rural style with fabulous taste. It not only looked good but it also started to smell good... We dug in: a small salad, a little bit of "morteruelo" (sort of meat paté), a little bit of "ajo arriero" (garlic, salt cod, and potatoes turned into a thick paste). They recommended the "migas" (made of breadcrumbs, olive oil, grapes and pork) and then we had some barbecued chops... Yummy...
