Mesaia Stoa
The Stoa Mesaia is the largest building of the ancient agora, measuring 147 meters by 17 meters and its orientation is east to west. The Doric-style columns are found on two of the four sides of the building. It was made with porous stone from the mountains around Athens. In Roman times it provided a thoroughfare for residents. Most of the building today is destroyed but you see plans very well aware of its enormous size and its importance for the life of the city.
