Mesa de Los Mayas Hotel

When we saw the hotel room we had a new idea. We had thought was going to be a tough stay in the Peten jungle. It was spotless and very new, wide and comfortable bed. The best thing was the shower basin of powerful jet of hot water, even had a partition. Cable TV and remote control all a treat and for only 5$ more than the filthy hotel we had been in before is amazing. After showering down to dinner at the restaurant that was famous in the village for their dishes. I ordered a plate of meat which could taste deer, armadillo, wild turkey, and agouti, a rodent the size of a rabbit. The agouti is one of the best steaks I've ever had, is a joy.
