Great for a business trip
The hotel Meridien Etoile is located next to the Porte Maillot metro stop on metro line 1. It is a luxury hotel, which is often used also for receptions, conferences and corporate events. Not my favorite neighborhood in Paris because there are many businesses around. It's not a nice place to take a walk. The Arc de Triomphe is a 20 minute walk, but you're still out of the center. It's better if you're traveling for business and you have to work in the area.
Downstairs there is a lounge restaurant that offers a more international cuisine, and is pretty good. The rooms are large with classic wooden furniture, a desk, a small table to read.
