Piazza Mercato

Located just behind the Corso Umberto I, immediately after the Piazza Broletto, this is a beautiful rectangular square dominated by the massive structure of the cathedral. On the other side is a side wall of the Broletto, the Episcopal Palace, and the interesting building of the governmental palace. The floor is made with the "ricciato" stones that are typical of the region. On Saturdays and Sundays a market is held here, and at other times the place is used for parking, which rather mars its beauty.
